TELEVISION BROADCAST TEACHES COMMUNITY TO LIVE GREEN

Dallas’ Valder Beebe is the “Martha Stewart” of Living Green, since making the decision to live an eco-friendly lifestyle a few years ago, Valder has helped teach both friends and family the importance of recycling, reducing and reusing products and now she is ready to make people aware nationally and internationally through Giving Green (GG), a television program designed to deliver the best possible Inspiration, Education and Information about being involved, active and educated in philanthropy and the environmental green movement with Cheryl Jackson of The Giving Movement.

“Cheryl Jackson has the knowledge and I have the expertise so together we merge philanthropy and eco-awareness to bring it to the forefront of cable broadcast.”

The show will showcase tips that people can use everyday to help make living green a lifestyle. Valder and Cheryl will take household tasks that people use daily and show them a better way to use them. It will help the community become more eco-efficient. Valder says that she made the decision to live green years ago with her family and today it has become a habit. Her goal is to make sure that people everywhere live green without consciously thinking about it.

“I left corporate America, working for a Fortune 500 job 20 years ago to start working from home,” said Valder. “We had to sell our cars and downsize to start using one vehicle; I needed to give my kids a solid platform and it was not easy but God made a way. We started our own garden care and even today I live in what some may call a shi shi fu area but I use nocturnal drying. I wash my clothes then at night I hang them outside to dry.”

Valder says this system has saved her $30 dollars a month on her electricity. And she is committed to helping others find small solutions towards saving the planet.

“It is not our fought that people do not think global warming so that is why this television broadcast will help bring awareness; just look at Galveston,” said Valder. “We all have our stack in the planet, just think about the poorer neighbors, Bangladesh, India and others that get squeezed first. They don’t have the resources and their water supply is low.”

She continued. “Most of us have lived in an all-access environment but if we don’t start thinking about our future, we will be in trouble. “

Currently Valder has a Living Green segment on her talk show and she has featured celebrities who have shared with her how they live a green lifestyle.

“I am determined to be a part of the Green Revolution,” Valder said laughing. “I am targeting the African American community because I don’t won’t them to be left out of this movement.  The television show, Sanford and Son had the right idea with the recycling shop but everyone looked at it as junk. Little did we know that he had a multi-million dollar company. This is what I will like to share with my community.”

Living green is a worldwide movement and some companies are committing to be a part of the movement.

“More and more bathroom products have gone green and although they cost a little more, they are helping the environment and they are safer for people to use,” added Valder. People can also use the recycling grocery bags. I have been using mine for years.”

She has also challenged her staff to go green. And as for her new book, Valder is considering writing about going green along with forming more partnerships in 2009 with the Giving Green development. Going green has definitely become a natural way of living.

“It does not take a lot to help save our planet. It can be something as simple as using recycled paper or hanging your clothes out to dry or even making sure that when you wash your clothes you do not wash one or two items at a time. This saves energy,” said Valder.
